CHENNAI RACING REVIEW
R : The opener of the day does not appear to be punter-friendly, as the chances of an outsider coming to the fore are high. The ones that deserve a look are TURF MELODY (3), CUBAN PETE (4), and WILD FRANK (9). In particular, the chances of CUBAN PETE (4) causing a massive upset are high, as he races almost at half (41) of the highest rating (80) ever achieved.
R : MAGICAL WAVE (7), with the past champion rider at the wheel, is the pick of the lot. Last-start handsome winner PRESTO POWER (3) makes a quick return, hoping to complete an encore of wins. STAR OF LIBERTY (5) goes over her lone winning trip, and that could see her bounce back to form.
R : On a roll, GUTSY (2) looks set for the fourth victory on the bounce. SWARGA (4), who ran third to GUTSY last time, could either overturn the tables or run her close, as he is better off by 7.5kg against his last-start vanquisher. AUGUSTA (3) would be ready to set alight if her owner-com-barn mate GUTSY were to be seen in a spot of bother.
R : A handsome winner on his seasonal debut, GIMMLER (8) looks set to sparkle and gleam once again. Speedy SEMINOLE WIND (6) is the primary threat. Well-bred SUPREME RUNNER (2), out of a dam whose sire was declared the latest champion broodmare sire, could land a telling blow.
R : With the run benefit under his belt, RUBIROSA (9) looks all set to bounce back to winning ways. The chances of ultra-consistent performer GLORIOUS GRACE (3) ought not to be overlooked. Either of the two western India migrants, THE AWAKENING (4) or PRESIDENTIAL (8), could play the role of a spoilsport.

R : The field may be small, but winner spotting appears to be an arduous task, as each of the contestants has something or another going in their favour. Upon splitting hairs, the Bangalore-based challenger, in-form SHAMROCK (3), who was beaten a neck in the SI derby (Gr.1) in his lone appearance on this track earlier this year, could make amends in his second start on this turf. It would be apt if the Kolkata-based contender IMPERIAL POWER (2) were to annex this graded event in honour of one of the past leading owners, the late Mr. Deepak Khaitan, whose colours dominated the tracks pan-India, who was also based in Kolkata. Equally fitting it would be if ONCE YOU GO BLACK (1) were to score, for his grandam, multi-classic winner Allaire, raced in the silks of Mr. Deepak Khaitan. Aside from that, the other positive is that he remains unbeaten on this track (2/2).
R : Front-rusher GOLDEN WARRIOR (1) is all set to resume his winning ways. Late-rusher MADE IN HEAVEN (6), with the top veteran rider atop, could have it easy. Maiden-yet LARADO (10), full brother of Shamrock—the prime fancy in the graded event today—would leave this field in a tizzy if he were to hit form.
R : The stable-mates duo, NEZIAH (6) and SURYAKRISHI (7), are the ones likely to dispute the fray, but the possibility of last-start impressive winner MISS ALLURE (3) joining the aforementioned pair in the fight for supremacy cannot be ruled out.
R : With a bit of luck, the 13-race maiden, MEMORY LANE (3), should be able to break the ice in this low-key affair. In-form MSG FANTASY (1) is the next best. THE STING (4) has done enough this term to warrant a look.
