KOLKATA RACING REVIEW

R : SEA DRAGON (4) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 11 starts. Did a good job last start to finish second over 1100m at this track, beaten 3 lengths. Nicely placed to test this line-up. TROPICAL LADY (3) finished second, beaten 3 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1100m at this track. Tackling a more suitable race this time so she will be hard to beat. TRIDENT STAR (6) has not raced since her debut on July 16 over 1200m at Bangalore when she finished eighth, beaten 21 lengths. Better for that run and can improve sharply. COSMIC COWBOY (2) stepped out for his debut over 1200m at Bangalore back on July 9 and finished seventh, beaten 19 lengths. Improver who can feature in the finish.

R : MACCHIATO (5) resumes from a spell of nine months. Looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 1400m at this track. Looks the one to beat. GHOST (4) was in the money two starts back at this track but couldn't back it up last time when sixth, beaten 12 lengths, at this track over 1600m. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. VENENO (3) finished second last time over 1600m at this track, beaten 3 lengths. Likely improver with bright prospects. WHISTLE BLOWER (1) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a eighth over 1100m at this track. Hard to beat in this suitable race.

R : Group 2 winner SEA LION (1) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on August 19 finishing fourth and beaten 8 lengths over 1400m at Bangalore. Should be hard to stop. DUBAI GOLD (3) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his last appearance at this track over 2000m on March 30. Capable of playing a major role. RIMEL (4) finished third last time over 2000m at this track, beaten 12 lengths. Hard to beat in this suitable race. BASHARAT (2) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when fifth over 1100m at this track. Likely improver who should be about the mark.

R : Group 1 placegetter MEROPI (3) is a talented filly who has been in the money at all five starts. Last appeared when she finished second over 1600m at Bangalore on June 18. Should be prominent from the outset. Best form puts her right in this. NAUTICA (4) got the job done last start by 7 lengths at this track over 1200m. Has a very good record here including two wins from four starts. Expect a bold showing. Group 3 placegetter CLIFFORD (2) was a winner at over this distance two back then tackled a longer trip last time but failed to measure up when fourth at Group 2 level at this track. Leading chance in this more suitable race. RODRIGO (1) finished second last start over 1200m at this track, beaten 6 lengths. Will benefit from that outing. In the right race and is sure to be prominent.

R : TRUE MARSHAL (3) continued a hot streak of form, winning over 1400m at this track last start to make it three straight. Impossible to knock the form and will go well again. DELPHINI (1) scored a first-up win at this track then found a couple better over 1200m at this track. The third-up record is strong so she is among the winning hopes. ETOSHA (5) is having his first run since August 12. Goes well when fresh with two wins and two placings from six starts. Will be hard to stop. HIDDEN GOLD (6) was beaten 6 lengths into sixth in a 1100m contest at this track two weeks ago. No surprise to see him in contentio

R : STAR JUSTICE (3) ran fourth at her latest appearance over 1100m at this track, clocking in 4 lengths from the winner. Leading player. JEAN LAFETTE (1) finished second two runs back at this track then improved last time out to score by 1.75 lengths over 1400m at this track. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. PAL CHA (9) did little and finished 17 lengths from the winner in sixth over 1400m at Hyderabad last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Hyderabad the run before. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. ROUDY (4) was last at the races when he finished tenth over 1600m at Bangalore on August 11. Comes here with definite top-three claims.
