R : Fleet-footed DANNY'S GIRL (4) is the one to beat on this sharp 5.5-furlong trip in the opener of the day. The 6-year-old PRINCE PURPLE (7), who ran third in a youthful bunch last time, now races in his age group and, as such, should not find it difficult to improve the finish. Although the last-start facile winner, the late-rusher ADMIRAL SHAW (1), who won on the relatively longer 7-furlong trip last time, may find the short 5.5-furlong trip sharp for his liking, but he could repeat if ridden close to the pace.

R : The last-start failed favourite, SET IN GOLD (2), has valid reasons (he turned his head to the left and lost a length at the start on his debut), and, in this relatively easier set, can make amends with an incident-free run. With the run benefit under her belt, ROXXANE (6) looks set to unleash her best. SEINA (7) comes into the fray on her maiden start for the simple reason her master is known for getting the youngsters ready for action early.

R : ROYAL DEFENDER (2) and PERSIAN ROCK (8) are the prime contenders and they ought to dispute the issue. The one capable of foiling their bids could well be the last-start gutsy winner, GOLDEN WARRIOR (5).

R : Race: A level start is all that it would take for AURORA BOREALIS (12) to stride clear of the pack in the straight. Gallant in defeat last time out, GREELEY (7) is the main threat. Any runner running well below the last winning mark has got be considered and CARTEL (8)—he runs at a whopping nineteen points below the last winning mark—figures in that list.

R : In rousing form this season, SAFETY (3) is the one to beat. Danger lurks around for her from her very own stable companion, DIAMOND AND PEARLS (1). The one capable of thwarting the bids of the aforementioned duo is SONIC DASH (2).

R : Speedy ROYAL TAPESTRY (6), who was beaten to second in the dying moments of the race last time, is capable of making amends this time out, provided she goes about doing her job at a sedate pace. KINGS RETURN (2) has it in him to contain the onslaught of this competition. It would be nothing but folly if the chances of SILVER SOUL (9), who races below the last winning mark, were to be ignored.

R : If the 26-race maiden, EMPIRE OF DREAMS (1), fails to strike in this weak affair, he likely never will. WAR EMBLEM (9) was beaten to second in all three of his previous attempts and is hoping to get lucky this time out. A hunch says that MARANELLO (10), who secured the lone win last January, could do the same this year.

R : LORD OF THE TURF (3), MULTIWAVE (4), and SEA WATERS (7) are likely to dominate the finish in the finale of the day.
