CHENNAI

1R : The opener of the day is a rather weak affair, and that leaves the door ajar for 8-race SEA WATERS (2), the full brother of Rodney, who ran 2nd in the SI 2000gn and Derby, to sneak in for his maiden victory. The same holds true for the 19-race maiden BLACK LABEL (7), and, with the past local champion rider at the wheel who knows the local track like the back of his hand, he could shove aside the bid of SEA WATERS to clinch his maiden win. MARANELLO (6) goes below the last (lone) winning mark by factoring in the claim (-5 kg) of the rookie, and, as such, he ought to be considered.

2R : SUPER STRIDE (1), ASTA (3), and TWINKLEINHEREYES (9) ought to dominate the finish.

3R : The debutante, ELSA (7), is the full sister of well-performing Leather Back, and that bodes well for her. The fact that the first progeny of the freshman sire to race, SIMOLA (4), has been working well might see him make his sire proud on his maiden bid. The once-raced maiden, ALBANNY (5), has the bloodline to keep the bid of this competition at bay.

Fleet-footed PROPOSED (6) would have this competition in a quandary if he were to hit the front early and enter the straight with a handy lead in tow.

6R : Fleet-footed GREELEY (3) has to be wary of the late-rushers, LARADO (1) and CHOICE (2).

7R : WOOD ART (5) has the initial speed to either win or finish in the money in the finale of the day. ARIKATTU (7), who called the shots before calling it quits at the final bend in a youthful bunch last time, could make merry till the post now that he races in his age group affair. A hunch says that AURORA BOREALIS (8) could well be the one to land a telling blow.
